"when you buy"

Choosing the right skate shoes is crucial for performance, safety, and durability.

The final decision depends largely on your skating style, but sole materials and construction are the most important factors to consider.

The soles are the most stressed part of skate shoes. There are two main types:

Vulcanized

It has a slimmer appearance and greater flexibility.

Greater feeling and control on the board.

Less cushioning against impacts and faster wear.

Cupsole

Thicker and more robust, sewn to the upper.

 Offers greater cushioning and protection.

Increased cushioning and impact protection. Increased durability.

Upper materials

The upper is the top part of the shoe and must resist abrasion and rubbing from the griptape.

  • Suede: Excellent resistance and good grip on the board.
  • CanvasLighter and more breathable than leather, but also less resistant to abrasion, especially in the most stressed areas.
  • Synthetic materials: They can be used in combination with other materials to offer strength and breathability.

Other construction details influence performance:

  • Reinforcements: Many brands use specific technologies to reinforce high-wear areas, such as the toe.
  • Shock absorbing insoles: essential for absorbing shock and protecting the feet, they are often removable and made of materials such as PU foam.
  • Padding: Padding around the neck and ankle provides added stability, protection and comfort.
